Katelyn Andersen
I am a scenic and properties designer, as well as a props artisan who grew up in Shrewsbury, MA. I recently graduated from Ithaca College with a BFA in Theatre Production and Design with a concentration in scenic design and props.
I enjoy designing plays that are unexpected and allow the directing and design team to tell a new story. I also love working on musicals when designing and building props because of the fun and joy in them but also the challenging nature of the shows because everything built must be durable and will also probably need to be stood on. I am looking forward to finding new opportunities after graduation and expanding into multiple industries where I can be creative and use the skills I have learned the last four years.
I have worked on multiple productions at Ithaca College in both scenic design and props. I served as the props supervisor on The Magic Flute, and Rent and the scenic designer for The Other Shore and Free Play.
I worked as the props designer at Weston Drama Workshop in Summer 2021 on eight shows including, The Lion King Experience, The SpongeBob Musical, Merrily We Roll Along, The Descendants, Metamorphoses, Jungle Book, Beware the Jabberwock, and Big Fish.
