Free Play

“Nobody is saying what doesn’t matter”

Free Play by playwright Idris Goodwin is a collection of short acts that dive into the black experience in the United States. These four stories, meant for children ages 6 to 14, portray multiple social issues and educate kids on anti-racism.

Personally, I found the relationships between the characters and the joy that was present in the families to be one of the most intriguing part of the stories. I enjoyed being able to look in on the conversations that people normally have privately in their homes and bring the knowledge from these conversations to a bigger audience.
